IMAGE OF OUR LADY OF ROSARY
Full-length round sculpture (20th century) representing the image of La Virgen del Carmen, standing in a majestic attitude, her body resting on the left leg and hip. On her left arm with an angled cut sits the image of the baby Jesus. He is looking towards the faithful with a cheerful and welcoming expression, highlighted by the position of his open arms. The right arm of the Virgin is slightly flexed in a forward direction showing the scapular that hangs from her hand (as a sign of salvation that she offers) and complements it by carrying the scepter (sign of her reign).
The image is of dark hair, it wears a cap and on it a crown, behind the head (both of the virgin and of the child) the representation of the aureole or ring of light very characteristic in the sacred characters is missing. She has a face with sweet features, soft, calm, wide forehead, small and closed mouth, the almond-shaped eyes make her have a tender look. On her back falls the mantle of golden tones, yellow ocher and decorated by golden floral ornamentation. The skirt is dark brown and also with golden floral ornamentation for decoration, it does not present deep folds, which does not generate chiaroscuro effects in the image. She is represented with a slight movement with her left leg somewhat advanced. On her little feet, she wears brown shoes. The Virgin stands on a gold and turquoise pedestal.
